Purpose
The Alumni Class Giving Awards are designed to mark achievements and affirm belief in the value of a Gardner-Webb University education. These awards provide alumni the opportunity to show school spirit and win recognition for their class.
Award Eligibility
Any class of Gardner-Webb University is eligible to receive this award.
Criteria for Selection
Award #1: Presented to the class with the highest giving percentage to the Annual Fund for the previous fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).
Award #2: Presented to the class with the highest participation rate to the Annual Fund for the previous fiscal year (July through June 30).

Selection Process
The Office of Development/Alumni Relations, in conjunction with members of the Alumni Association Recognitions and Awards Team, determines the class recipient for each award.
By August 1 Review team meets to review the annual giving report from the previous year.
By August 15 Class officers/representatives are contacted by the Office of Alumni Relations.
By September 1 Class officers/representatives confirmed the names of class members who will attend the Recognitions and Awards Banquet during the Homecoming weekend to receive the award on behalf of their class.
By September 15 Award packet is mailed along with an itinerary for the Homecoming weekend.
Announcement and Recognition
Class recipients are recognized and honored in several specific ways throughout the year:
1. Class officers/representatives accept a plaque presented by the President of the Alumni Association on behalf of their class at the Recognitions and Awards Banquet during Homecoming weekend.
2. Class is recognized during the Homecoming weekend.
3. Announcement is made on the supportgwu.com website.
4. Email blast is sent to all alumni congratulating the class.
5. Congratulations letter is mailed to each member of the class.
6. Announcement made in The Magazine.
7. A plaque is displayed in the Dover Campus Center or Office of Alumni Relations.
