You might be interested in helping place Gardner-Webb graduates in jobs, acting as a career mentor to new (or old) alumni, expanding your career network, or you might be looking for a job yourself. Either way, there are a few simple steps to use the supportgwu.com career network.
Searching the supportgwu.com career network
Only registered users can search for other users of the site (see below). Find a Classmate to start looking for classmates and friends. Fill in all or part of any search field (name, grad year, degree, occupation, employer) to see a list of people who have registered on our site that match your search criteria. Click the link in the search results to see that person's full profile. Once you've seen their profile, request to be their friend or drop them an email.
Registering to join the supportgwu.com career network
1. Register as a user for the site. Once you are registered you will receive a confirmation email. Follow those instructions and then log in and start using supportgwu.com. (Or, if you're already registered as a user, just log in and go to your profile page. Click "Edit" and then "Personal Information" to change your profile.)
2. Complete as much information as possible in your profile, especially your Occupation (your job title) and your current Employer, if you have one. People will read these fields, but will also use search terms on them, so try not to use abbreviations or terms that most people would not know.
3. Make sure you check the box at the bottom of your personal information titled "I would like to career network with GWU alumni and friends." You'll show up clearly when other alumni start to search for other people in the network.
4. Go to your account page, click edit, and upload a picture into your profile. We've recently made the profile pictures larger, but you can post any size picture and supportgwu.com will automatically size it for you.
5. While you're on the account page check the box titled "Personal Contact Form". That lets other users send you email. You can also share your email address when you edit your personal information so other people will know how to get in touch with you.
